Product Description
DAM Quick 110-574 Pinion Gear - SLS 1
Restore the silent, high-speed performance of your DAM Quick reel with this genuine Pinion Gear.
The Pinion Gear is the high-speed component of your reel's drivetrain, transferring power from the main gear to spin the rotor. Located centrally on the main shaft of the DAM Quick SLS 1, this gear endures constant friction and high RPMs. Over time, the helical teeth can wear down, or the threaded top section can become stripped, resulting in a rough, noisy retrieve or a loose rotor. This authentic replacement part restores the fluid, precision gear mesh essential for ultralight fishing.
Product Features
-
Precision Helical Cut: Teeth are machined to exact tolerances to mesh seamlessly with the main drive gear, eliminating "gear buzz."
-
Model Specific: Engineered to the specific length and diameter requirements of the DAM Quick SLS 1 housing.
-
Durable Brass Construction: Made from high-quality alloy to resist wear while providing a smooth running surface.
-
Restored Tolerance: Eliminates rotor wobble and restores the crisp, tight feel of the reel.
Model Compatibility
This part is verified to fit the following DAM Quick spinning reel models:
-
DAM Quick SLS 1
Note: This pinion gear is specific to the SLS 1. Although it looks similar to the SLS 0 pinion, the dimensions are different. It is not interchangeable with SLS 0 or larger SLS 2-5 models.

Installation Notes
Replacing the pinion gear involves a significant disassembly of the reel.
-
Remove the spool and the rotor nut to take off the rotor assembly.
-
Open the reel body (side plate) and remove the main shaft and drive gear to release the pinion's internal engagement.
-
Unscrew the pinion bearing retainer plate (if present) to free the gear.
-
Slide the old pinion out. Pro Tip: Check the condition of the Pinion Bearing (Part #110-548) and the Anti-Reverse Ratchet (Part #110-561) while you have the assembly apart.
-
Clean the housing of old grease. Apply fresh reel grease to the teeth of the new 110-574 pinion and light oil to the shaft surfaces.
-
Install the new pinion, ensuring it spins freely in the bearing before reassembling the rest of the drivetrain.
