Professional Maintenance & Lubrication
To achieve the legendary "silky" feel of a CarbonTex system, proper lubrication is essential. We highly recommend the following high-performance treatment during installation:

Drag Surface Coating: Apply a very thin, translucent coat of Deuthlon Reel Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease prevents "stutter" and protects your internal metal plates from corrosion and pitting.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings and handle assembly to ensure the entire reel operates with zero resistance, complementing your upgraded drag system.
Installation Tip: Before fitting your new kit, use a high-quality degreaser to remove all old, hardened grease from the metal "eared" and "keyed" washers. A clean metal surface ensures the carbon fiber provides the most consistent friction possible.
