Drag Surface Treatment: Apply a very thin, translucent coating of Deuthlon Reel Grease or Cal’s Universal Drag Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease prevents "chatter" and provides a waterproof barrier for the metal plates.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings. For DC (Digital Control) models, maintaining high-quality oil on the spool shaft is the secret to getting the most out of the electronic braking system.
Installation Tip: When servicing modern reels like the SLX DC or Curado MGL, be extremely careful when opening the side plate to avoid damaging the spool tension spacers or the DC contact pins. Ensure the "eared" metal washers are perfectly aligned with the slots in the main gear before closing the reel.
