Professional Maintenance & Lubrication
To achieve the legendary "silky" feel of a CarbonTex system and protect the precision MicroModule gearing of your Curado, proper lubrication is essential during installation:

Drag Surface Treatment: Apply an extremely thin, translucent coating of Deuthlon Reel Grease or Cal’s Universal Tan Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease is formulated to prevent "chatter" while providing a waterproof barrier.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings. For the Curado DC, high-quality oil is the secret to maintaining the effortless casting performance of the Digital Control system.
Installation Tip: The Curado K and DC 150 utilize a very precise internal gear stack. When reassembling, ensure the "eared" metal washers are perfectly seated in the main gear slots. For DC models, take extra care not to get grease on the electronic sensors or the contact points of the side plate.
