Product Description
DAM Quick 110-563 Ratchet - SLS 4
Ensure rock-solid stopping power and reliable hook sets with this genuine DAM Quick Ratchet Gear.
The ratchet gear (commonly called the anti-reverse ratchet or cog) is the toothed component that anchors your reel's anti-reverse system. Located on the pinion shaft beneath the rotor of the DAM Quick SLS 4, this gear locks against the anti-reverse pawl to prevent the handle from spinning backward. Over time, heavy strain from fighting fish can round off or chip the gear teeth, resulting in a slipping anti-reverse or a "skipping" sensation. This authentic replacement part restores the instant, positive lock-up required for effective fishing.
Product Features
-
Precision Engagement: Sharply defined teeth ensure the pawl catches instantly, preventing handle slap-back.
-
Heavy-Duty Design: Sized and hardened specifically to handle the higher torque loads of the SLS 4 model.
-
Exact Fit: Machined to slide perfectly onto the pinion assembly of the SLS 4 without wobble.
-
Essential Function: Vital for ensuring the reel stops immediately when the anti-reverse is engaged.
Model Compatibility
This part is verified to fit the following DAM Quick spinning reel models:
-
DAM Quick SLS 4
Note: This ratchet is engineered specifically for the SLS 4. It is not interchangeable with the smaller SLS 3 (Part #110-562) or the larger SLS 5 due to differences in shaft diameter and tooth geometry.

Installation Notes
Replacing the ratchet gear requires accessing the top of the pinion assembly.
-
Remove the spool and the rotor nut to lift the rotor assembly off the reel body.
-
Locate the ratchet gear seated on the pinion shaft (often above the main pinion bearing).
-
Remove the old ratchet. Critical Tip: Always inspect the Anti-Reverse Pawl (Part #110-491) when replacing the ratchet. If the gear teeth are worn, the pawl tip is almost certainly damaged as well.
-
Clean the shaft thoroughly to remove old grease and metal shavings.
-
Install the new 110-563 ratchet, ensuring the teeth are oriented correctly to catch the pawl during reverse rotation.
-
Reinstall the rotor and test the anti-reverse function before final tightening.
