To achieve the legendary "silky" feel of a CarbonTex system, proper lubrication is essential. We highly recommend the following high-performance treatment during installation:

Drag Surface Coating: Apply a very thin, translucent coat of Deuthlon Reel Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease prevents "chatter" and protects your internal metal plates from corrosion and pitting under heavy load.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings and drive shaft to ensure the reel operates with zero friction, maximizing your free-spool performance and complementing the upgraded drag system.
Installation Tip: Before fitting your new kit, use a high-quality degreaser to remove all old grease and debris from the metal drag plates. A clean metal surface is vital for the carbon fiber to seat and perform at its peak.
