Professional Maintenance & Lubrication
To achieve the legendary "silky" feel of a CarbonTex system and protect the MicroModule gearing of your Tranx or Curado K, proper lubrication is essential:

Drag Surface Treatment: Apply a very thin, translucent coating of Deuthlon Reel Grease or Cal’s Universal Drag Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease prevents "chatter" and provides a waterproof barrier for the metal plates.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings. For the Curado DC, high-quality oil is the secret to maintaining the effortless casting of the Digital Control system.
Installation Tip: The "K" and Tranx 200 series utilize a very precise internal gear stack. When reassembling, ensure the "eared" metal washers are perfectly seated in the main gear slots. If your reel is a DC model, take extra care not to get grease on the electronic sensors or the contact points of the side plate.
