Drag Surface Coating: For the smoothest possible engagement, apply a very thin, translucent coat of Deuthlon Reel Grease to the CarbonTex washers. This specialized grease is designed to maintain consistent friction and protect the metal drag plates from pitting and corrosion.

Gear and Bearing Care: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings and handle assembly to ensure the entire reel operates with minimal resistance.
Installation Note: Before fitting your new CarbonTex kit, ensure the metal "keyed" and "eared" washers are completely clean and free of old grease or salt deposits. A clean metal surface is essential for the carbon fiber to perform at its peak.
