Professional Maintenance & Lubrication
To maintain the elite performance standards of the Tiagra 130, proper lubrication is vital. While CarbonTex can be used dry, we strongly recommend a light application of specialized grease for the smoothest possible lever operation:

Drag Plate Treatment: Apply a very thin, even coat of Deuthlon Reel Grease to both sides of the CarbonTex washers. This specialized grease is formulated to stay on the washer face under extreme pressure, providing a waterproof barrier and preventing "chatter."

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings and handle assembly to ensure the entire reel operates with zero friction, complementing your upgraded drag system.
Installation Tip: Before installing your new kit, use a high-quality degreaser to remove all old, hardened grease from the titanium or stainless steel drag plates. Ensure these plates are perfectly flat and free of scoring to allow the CarbonTex to seat properly.
