Professional Maintenance & Lubrication
To maintain the precision tolerances of a Stella drag system, proper lubrication is vital. While CarbonTex can be run dry, we strongly recommend a light application of specialized lubricants for "silky" operation:

Drag Surface: Apply a thin, even coat of Deuthlon Reel Grease to both sides of each washer. This grease is formulated to withstand extreme pressure and high temperatures while preventing saltwater from entering the drag stack.

Spool & Shaft Care: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool support bearings and main shaft to ensure the spool rotates with zero resistance, even when the drag is under heavy load.
Note: Before installation, ensure all metal drag plates are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for scoring. If plates are warped or damaged, refer to your schematic for the correct replacement part numbers to ensure the new CarbonTex washers seat perfectly.
