Product Description
DAM Quick 110-509 Drive Gear - SLS 0 / 1
Restore the smooth, powerful retrieve of your ultralight reel with this genuine DAM Quick Drive Gear.
The drive gear (often called the main gear) is the mechanical heart of your spinning reel. On the compact DAM Quick SLS 0 and SLS 1, this gear translates the rotation of the handle into the high-speed spin of the rotor. Over time, heavy use or lack of lubrication can cause the gear teeth to wear down, chip, or strip entirely, resulting in a "coffee grinder" noise, rough operation, or a slipping handle. This authentic replacement part restores the silent, fluid mesh and cranking power that makes fishing these small reels a joy.

Installation Notes
Replacing the drive gear is a major maintenance task that requires opening the reel body.
-
Remove the handle and side plate to access the gearbox.
-
Remove the old drive gear, paying close attention to any copper or Teflon shim washers located on the shaft. These are critical for gear alignment.
-
Clean the interior of the reel body and the pinion gear thoroughly to remove any metal shavings from the old gear.
-
Apply a generous amount of high-quality reel grease to the teeth of the new 110-509 gear.
-
Install the new gear, ensuring the shims are placed correctly to prevent the gear from binding or feeling too loose.
-
Reassemble the side plate and test the feel. If it feels "geary," you may need to adjust the shim stack.
