Product Description
Shimano 10NYG Line Guide (BNT5210) | Level Wind Component
The Shimano 10NYG Line Guide (BNT5210) is an essential component of the level wind system on high-end Shimano baitcasting reels. This part serves as the primary carriage that travels back and forth along the worm shaft, directing the fishing line evenly across the spool.
Unlike a simple line guide, the 10NYG is precision-machined from lightweight, high-strength aluminum or composite (depending on the specific reel year) and often features a ceramic or titanium insert. This insert is designed to minimize friction and heat buildup, which is critical for preventing line damage during high-speed casts or when fighting powerful fish.

Compatible Reel Models
The 10NYG (BNT5210) is a premium part used in several of Shimano's flagship round and low-profile baitcasting reels. It is a direct fit for:
-
Shimano Calcutta Conquest: CTCNQ300, CTCNQ400 (and left-hand models).
-
Shimano Tranx: TRX300, TRX301, TRX400, TRX401 (including HG versions).
-
Shimano Ocea Conquest: Select JDM models (Verify by schematic).
Technical Tip: The line guide is held in place by the Line Guide Pawl (BNT2121) and the Pawl Cap (BNT2122). If your line is "stacking" on one side of the spool, or if the guide is not moving at all, it is often due to a worn pawl rather than the line guide itself. You can find the full assembly breakdown in the PDF schematics at www.reelschematic.com.
Maintenance & Lubrication Recommendation
The line guide is one of the most active external parts of the reel and is constantly exposed to the water, salt, and debris carried by the line. To ensure it glides smoothly across the guide rails, we recommend Deuthlon Lubricants:
-
For the Guide Rails: Apply a very thin film of Deuthlon Reel Gear Grease to the metal rails that the line guide slides on. This provides a waterproof barrier and prevents the "chatter" or vibration often felt during a fast retrieve.
-
For the Internal Insert: Keep the internal ring (where the line passes through) clean of salt and grit. A single drop of Deuthlon Power Cast Oil on a cotton swab can be used to wipe the inside of the ring to help shed water and reduce line friction.
Why Choose Genuine Shimano 10NYG?
-
Heat Dissipation: The OEM ceramic/titanium inserts are specifically designed to handle the high friction of braided lines, which can "saw" through lower-quality plastic guides.
-
Perfect Spacing: Engineered to provide the exact clearance required for the Worm Shaft Pipe, ensuring the level wind doesn't bind or "hang" at the edges of the spool.
-
Corrosion Shield: Shimano’s proprietary coating prevents the aluminum body of the guide from oxidizing and pitting in saltwater conditions.
