Product Description
Fin-Nor YT312-01 Drive Gear Assembly (Offshore OFS45-55)
Restore the brute strength and cranking smoothness of your saltwater spinning reel with the Fin-Nor YT312-01 Drive Gear Assembly. This genuine OEM component is the heart of the drive train for the Fin-Nor Offshore (OFS) series. As the primary gear connecting the handle to the pinion, it bears the brunt of the load when you are winching big fish from the depths.
Over time, heavy drag loads and saltwater ingress can cause gear teeth to wear, chip, or corrode. This often results in a "coffee grinder" feel or a distinct growling noise during retrieval. Replacing the main drive gear is the most effective way to eliminate gear lash and restore the tight, powerful feel your reel had when it was new.
Key Features
-
Genuine Fin-Nor Part: Precision-manufactured to the specific tolerances of the OFS45 and OFS55 platforms.
-
Heavy-Duty Alloy: Cast from high-strength zinc/aluminum alloy to withstand the immense torque of the Offshore series drag system.
-
Precision Cut Teeth: Engineered for optimal mesh with the pinion gear to minimize friction and vibration.
-
Direct Fit: Seamlessly replaces the original gear without modification.
Compatible Models
This drive gear is engineered specifically for the "Small Body" sizes of the Fin-Nor Offshore series. It is not compatible with the larger OFS65 through OFS95 sizes (which use the KT312 series gear).

Tech Tip: The "Matched Set" Rule. Gears wear together as a pair. If your Main Drive Gear is worn enough to need replacement, your Pinion Gear is likely worn as well. Installing a new drive gear against an old pinion gear can lead to rapid wear and a "noisy" reel. For the best result, we recommend replacing both simultaneously.
