Step-by-Step Instructions:

6. Trim and Finish the Post: Using a fine-toothed file or saw, carefully cut the excess portion of the brass post so it is flush with the top of the handle knob.

7. Polish for a Professional Finish: Use fine-grit sandpaper and a polishing compound to smooth and polish the top of the brass post for a clean, professional finish.
