To achieve the legendary "silky" feel of a CarbonTex system and protect your precision brass gears, proper lubrication is essential during installation:

Drag Surface Treatment: Apply a very thin, translucent coating of Deuthlon Reel Grease to both sides of each CarbonTex washer. This specialized grease is formulated to withstand extreme pressure while providing a waterproof barrier that prevents "chatter" under heavy load.

Mechanical Fluidity: Use Deuthlon Reel Oil on the spool bearings and the level-wind worm gear to ensure the reel operates with zero friction, maximizing your casting distance and complementing the upgraded drag system.
Installation Tip: Before fitting your new kit, use a high-quality degreaser to remove all old, hardened grease and salt deposits from the metal "eared" and "keyed" washers. A clean, smooth metal surface is vital for the carbon fiber to seat properly and perform at its peak.
