In a groundbreaking development, we've integrated two stainless steel ball bearings into the Ambassadeur idler gear. Precision-engineered in our facilities, these gears are designed to accommodate two ABEC 7 bearings (included), markedly improving the gear's speed and ensuring a longer, smoother casting experience. Compatible with a wide array of reel sizes, from 4000 to 6600, this upgrade is perfect for nearly all classic round Ambassadeurs. This kit serves as a direct replacement for the original 23404 Idler gear and 23403 Spool gear, and includes a machined idler gear, a spool gear, two stainless bearings, a 4490 c-clip for backup or replacement, and a tuning shim washer.

It's important to note that these idler gears are not suitable for certain models, including the UC series, which requires the 23293 idler gear due to differing tooth profiles.

The ABU dual bearing wormgear kit along with the Abu Dual Bearing Idler Gear Kit has increased the casting distance on my Abu Garcia 6500 Pro Rocket reels from 160 feet to 205 feet.
