Product Description
DAM Quick 110-578 Oscillation Gear - SLS 3
Ensure perfect line lay and smooth spool movement with this genuine DAM Quick Oscillation Gear.
The Oscillation Gear is a vital component of the line management system in your DAM Quick SLS 3. Driven by the pinion gear, this gear rotates to move the oscillation slider (traverse block) up and down, which in turn moves the spool shaft. If your line is bunching up at one end of the spool, or if you hear a "knocking" sound during the retrieve, a worn oscillation gear—specifically a worn tracking pin or damaged teeth—is often the culprit. This authentic replacement part restores the even, consistent line distribution necessary for long casts and smooth drag performance.
Product Features
-
Precision Tracking: Features a robust integrated pin that drives the slider block smoothly through its cycle.
-
Exact Timing: Gear teeth are cut to the specific ratio required for the SLS 3, ensuring the spool stroke matches the rotor speed perfectly.
-
Durable Construction: Made from wear-resistant alloy to withstand the constant friction of the slider block.
-
Restored Line Lay: Eliminates "hourglass" or cone-shaped line stacking patterns on the spool.
Model Compatibility
This part is verified to fit the following DAM Quick spinning reel models:
-
DAM Quick SLS 3
Note: This oscillation gear is engineered specifically for the mid-sized SLS 3. It is not interchangeable with the smaller SLS 0/1/2 or the larger SLS 4/5 models.

Installation Notes
Replacing the oscillation gear requires accessing the deepest part of the reel's gearbox.
-
Remove the spool, rotor, handle, and side plate.
-
Remove the main drive gear and the main shaft to expose the oscillation system.
-
Remove the Oscillation Slider (Part #110-516) to access the gear underneath.
-
Lift out the old oscillation gear. Check the bushing or post it rides on; if there is debris or old grease, clean it thoroughly.
-
Apply a light coating of reel grease to the teeth of the new 110-578 gear and a dab of grease on the tracking pin that engages the slider.
-
Place the new gear on its post, reinstall the slider block, and rotate the pinion by hand to ensure the slider moves up and down smoothly before full reassembly.
