Product Description
Shimano 10TMB Yoke (BNT5626) | Pinion Engagement System
The Shimano 10TMB Yoke (BNT5626) is a critical internal component of the clutch mechanism in modern Shimano baitcasting reels. The yoke acts as a sliding carriage for the pinion gear. When you depress the thumb bar to cast, the yoke lifts the pinion gear away from the spool shaft, allowing the spool to spin freely. When you turn the handle to engage the reel, the yoke pushes the pinion gear back into place to mesh with the drive gear.
Precision-molded from a high-performance, low-friction polymer, the 10TMB is designed to handle thousands of clutch cycles without wearing down. Because it is a moving part under spring tension, it is one of the most important areas to inspect during a seasonal service.

Compatible Reel Models
The 10TMB (BNT5626) is a standard part for many of Shimano’s high-performance 150 and 200 sized baitcasters. It is a direct fit for:
-
Shimano Curado K: CU200K, CU201K, CU200HGK, CU201HGK, CU200XGK, CU201XGK.
-
Shimano Curado DC: 150DC, 151DC (Standard, HG, and XG variants).
-
Shimano SLX: 150, 151 (Standard, XT, and DC models).
-
Shimano Tranx: 200, 201 (Select sub-models).
-
Shimano Scorpion: Modern MGL and DC versions (Verify by schematic).
Technical Tip: If your thumb bar feels "sticky" or fails to return to the locked position when you turn the handle, the yoke or the Yoke Springs (BNT5627) are likely the cause. Over time, old grease can harden on the yoke's sliding posts, creating resistance that prevents the pinion gear from re-engaging.
Maintenance & Lubrication Recommendation
Since the yoke is in constant contact with the pinion gear and sliding posts, it requires a grease that can withstand high friction without washing away. We recommend Deuthlon Lubricants:
-
For the Yoke "Wings": Apply a light coating of Deuthlon Reel Gear Grease to the two curved arms that hold the pinion gear and the two holes where the yoke slides on the posts. This high-tack grease provides a permanent lubricating film that ensures a smooth, "clicky" engagement every time.
-
For the Sliding Posts: Ensure the metal posts on the Set Plate are clean. Apply a tiny amount of grease to the posts to prevent the polymer yoke from binding.
-
Pro Tip: When reassembling, make sure the Yoke Springs (BNT5627) are seated perfectly vertical on top of the yoke. If they are tilted, they can rub against the side plate, causing a "scratchy" feeling during the retrieve.
Why Choose Genuine Shimano 10TMB?
-
Heat Resistance: Shimano's proprietary polymer is designed to maintain its shape even if the reel heats up during a long fight with a powerful fish.
-
Perfect Clearance: Unlike generic 3D-printed yokes, the BNT5626 provides the exact micrometer clearance needed for the pinion gear to slide without "slop" or vibration.
-
Low Friction: The self-lubricating properties of the OEM material ensure that your thumb bar remains light and easy to operate over the life of the reel.
