Product Description
SHIMANO 107PL DRAG CLICK RATCHET (RD11531)
The "Soundboard" of Your Drag System
The Shimano 107PL Drag Click Ratchet (Part No. RD11531) is a specialized alloy gear found on the main shaft of many mid-range to high-end Shimano spinning reels. Located directly underneath the spool, this component serves as the stationary "track" that the click pin (inside the spool) bounces against when a fish takes line.
While the pin inside the spool creates the action, this ratchet provides the teeth. If your drag is silent or feels inconsistent, but the pin inside the spool looks fine, the teeth on this ratchet may be worn smooth. Additionally, because it is keyed to the main shaft, it plays a structural role in stabilizing the spool stack during a fight.

Installation Tip:
-
Keying: The center hole of this ratchet is not perfectly round; it has flat sides to match the flat spots on the Main Shaft. You must align these flats perfectly before sliding it down, or it will sit too high and prevent the spool from seating.
-
Orientation: The teeth (serrations) must face upward towards the spool. If you install it upside down, the click pin will have nothing to hit, and your drag will be silent.
-
Spool Washers: This part usually sits directly on top of the Spool Support (plastic or metal collar) and underneath the Spool Adjusting Washers (the thin black or transparent shims used to adjust line lay).
