Product Description
SHIMANO 106UX CLICK PIN (RD 8759)
The Source of the "Scream"
The Shimano 106UX Click Pin (Part No. RD 8759) is the tiny component responsible for the audible "zzzzzz" sound when a fish pulls drag on your spinning reel. Located inside the bottom of the spool assembly, this pin bounces against the click gear (mounted on the main shaft support) as the spool rotates.
If your drag is working smoothly but makes no sound (or a very faint sound) when line is pulled out, this pin is usually the culprit. Over time, the tip of the pin wears down from friction, or the pin itself gets stuck in its channel due to salt and corrosion. Replacing it restores the critical auditory feedback that lets you know a fish is running.

Alternate Part Number: RD 8759
Installation Tip:
-
The Spring: This pin sits in a tiny hole at the bottom of the spool and is pushed outward by a Click Spring (usually Part RD 8758). When you pull the old pin out, be extremely careful—if the spring is still under tension, it will launch the pin or itself across the room.
-
Grease: Apply a moderate amount of reel grease to the pin and the hole. This ensures the pin slides freely and creates a waterproof barrier to prevent it from seizing inside the spool housing.
