Product Description
Fin-Nor YT311-01 Pinion Gear Assembly (Offshore OFS45-55)
Eliminate gear noise and restore the rock-solid engagement of your saltwater spinning reel with the Fin-Nor YT311-01 Pinion Gear Assembly. This genuine OEM component is the high-speed "transmission" of the Fin-Nor Offshore (OFS) series. It connects the main drive gear to the rotor, converting your cranking power into the high-speed rotation needed to retrieve lures and battle fast-moving pelagics.
The pinion gear is subjected to the highest RPMs and significant torque loads. Over time, salt intrusion or heavy drag pressure can wear down the teeth or corrode the bearing surface. If your reel feels "gritty," makes a whirring noise under load, or if the rotor wobbles significantly, a worn pinion gear is often the primary cause.
Key Features
-
Genuine Fin-Nor Part: Precision-machined to the exact tolerances of the OFS45 and OFS55 series gearboxes.
-
Hardened Construction: Manufactured from high-grade hardened brass or stainless alloy to resist wear from the softer main gear.
-
Precision Threading: Features clean threads for the rotor nut, ensuring the rotor assembly stays locked down tight.
-
Smooth Mesh: Engineered to interface perfectly with the main drive gear for fluid operation.
Compatible Models
This pinion gear is engineered specifically for the Small Body sizes of the Fin-Nor Offshore series. It is not compatible with the larger OFS65, OFS75, OFS85, or OFS95 models (which use the KT311 series).

Tech Tip: The "Matched Set" Rule. Gears wear together as a friction pair. If you are replacing the Pinion Gear (Key #20) due to wear or roughness, it is highly recommended to also replace the Main Drive Gear (Key #31 / Part #YT312-01). Mating a brand-new pinion gear with an old, worn drive gear will likely result in rapid wear of the new part and continued noise.
