The Q30-8301 Roller Clutch (also known as the One-Way Bearing or IAR Bearing) is the heart of the "Infinite Anti-Reverse" system found in modern Daiwa spinning reels. This specialized bearing allows the rotor to spin freely in the retrieve direction but locks instantly when the handle is stopped, preventing any reverse rotation.
If your reel handle slips backward intermittently or fails to lock up—especially in cold weather—this clutch is the primary component to replace. It is designed to work in tandem with the inner spacing sleeve to provide a rock-solid lockup.

> Tech Tip: Anti-reverse failure is often caused by over-lubrication. This bearing requires very light oil (or no lubrication), never heavy grease. If replacing this clutch, inspect the inner Spacing Sleeve (J00-1401) for pitting or wear, as a damaged sleeve will damage the new bearing.
