Product Description
SHIMANO 109XC SLIDE PLATE (TT 0094)
The Switch for Your High-Torque Gears
The Shimano 109XC Slide Plate (Part No. TT 0094) is a vital heavy-duty component found in the shifting mechanism of Shimano’s flagship big-game trolling reels. This plate works in tandem with the push-button shifter to physically move the gear select crossbar, allowing the reel to toggle between high-speed and low-speed gear ratios.
Because this part is under constant spring tension and experiences high friction during every gear change, it is prone to wear. In a saltwater environment, even a small amount of corrosion on this plate can lead to a "stuck" shifter or a reel that pops out of gear when a large fish is on the line.

Substitution Note: This part is the official modern replacement for older codes TT0093 and TGT0970 in specific legacy models.
Installation Tip:
-
Spring Interaction: This plate is pushed by the Slide Plate Spring (10PWH). When reassembling the handle stack, ensure the spring is seated in the plate's recess; otherwise, the shifter button will not "pop" back out when released.
-
Grease: Apply a thin layer of heavy-duty marine grease (like Shimano Permalub) to both sides of the plate. This is a sliding contact point and requires lubrication to prevent the "gritty" shifting feel common in older reels.
-
Check the Button: If you are replacing this plate because the reel won't shift, also inspect the Push Low Button Shaft. If the shaft is bent, even a new slide plate will not fix the engagement issue.
