Product Description
SHIMANO 105U6 BEARING SEAL (TGT0433)
The First Line of Defense Against Saltwater
The Shimano 105U6 Bearing Seal (Part No. TGT0433) is a specialized rubber gasket designed to protect the most vulnerable point of a conventional reel: the Drive Shaft and Anti-Reverse assembly. Located in the handle side plate, this seal sits directly on top of the Roller Clutch (Anti-Reverse Bearing) or the upper drive shaft bearing.
Its primary function is to create a watertight barrier that prevents saltwater, sand, and deck wash from dripping down the handle shaft and destroying the roller clutch. If this seal is cracked, dried out, or missing, your anti-reverse bearing will quickly rust, causing the handle to slip backward or seize up entirely.

Installation Tip: This seal is directional. It typically presses into a recess in the side plate or sits inside a metal Bearing Retainer. When installing, apply a generous coating of marine grease (like Shimano Permalub or Cal's Drag Grease) to the seal lips. This grease acts as a secondary water barrier and lubricates the contact point with the Roller Clutch Inner Tube, preventing the seal from tearing during rotation.
