Anti reverse problems. I took reel apart, the dog appears OK, is there some kind of spring that holds dog against gear? thanks.

Hi. No spring I'm aware of. Is this it? http://daiwa.com/PartsDiagram/PartsDiagram/6HM_6RM.pdf

It should be it, or close. Take a look at the 2 leaves on the dog...they need to be touching each other ~before~ you gently spread them to straddle the driveshaft gear. Re-adjust the leaves of the dog carefully, or you will destroy it.

Make sure you place the dog on the correct side of that little post on the brake plate. Best way to do that is: place dog on gear, then slide everything on down the brake plate post to the bottom, guiding the dog into position. Remember to spot a drop of grease at the contact point main gear and driveshaft, and the post as well.
