Hi...seems to be a ghost reel on the web in general....I'd just send Purefishing a note, and request an e copy.

Under the form, is a list of country-specific email addresses. I'd go to
America first.

http://www.abugarcia.com/about_contact.php

edit......do you have Scandinavian language skills? there is a good collection out there, that went dead a while back..I don't know the language to spot a contact us link, to tell them it totally blows now.

Hi Ken,

not sure if you meant that collection (last updates mentioned on the page are from 2009, so I thought I could give it a try) :

http://www.scandicfishing.com/start/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=34&Itemid=80

They have got this link for telling them news:

http://www.scandicfishing.com/start/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&id=1&Itemid=81

And here you can find an emailaddress:

http://www.scandicfishing.com/start/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=28

But as even the news on their startpage date from 2009 ( http://www.scandicfishing.com/start/ ), I wouldn´t expect too much.

Made a short search in their ABU-folder, couldn´t find any schematics in there for the Sorön.

Not sure if that helped at all, but if you can get them to update their schematics again, I wouldn´t complain Wink .

Hi, Chris... I cannot even access the Abu collection !!!! It just goes direct to web page dead. Of all the collections at the site, 2 work, the rest do not.

All collections that goto techsson die a fast death here. Bummer. Mike's collection is cool but I cannot acces it easily here either. There are server challenges between there, and here. I go to Abu's main collection at Iowa.

Hi Ken,

sorry, you´re right, of course, just thought you wanted a contact possibility to send them a mail Very Happy .

Strange, I can take a look into their ABU-folder, but that´s it, the documents are dead.

I made some websearches regarding the Sorön schematics, had a danish board where I couldn´t register due to my free email provider, now I can´t even reproduce that search and find it again that way. Finally I dug my way through the search results:

http://www.fisketips.dk/Default.asp?Obj=spsm&funk=vis&spid=329945

A guy is asking about the differences between the 40 and the 20 size (note by me: the size Whistle Wink ; yes, i know, maybe the handle and real design differences, but I couldn´t resist Wink ), the results for the Google search showed part of the answer, somebody had scanned the schematics and put them online (photobucket, from memory, but the link didn´t show up).

That said, see above, they don´t let people with free email providers register; and I don´t want any spam in my "good" email address Rolling Eyes . So the case is still unsolved, I tried to search for Sorøn also, of course; and got even less for the SX.

What confuses me, is that ABU doesn´t have those schematics listed on their page, at least in Germany a lot of people like the STX. Or they´re that tough, so you´ll never need any parts at all Twisted Evil Wink .
Can´t scan it myself, haven´t got one, just the previous model, the 800-series (not to be confused with the ancient, graphite, I think, 800-series from the distant past Wink ).

Hi, Chris.....by way of example, maybe the following applies to the reel in quesiton.

I recently purchased a 'line-counter' model of some abu or other... entitled the A-20 line counter. I don't have it yet, it's supposedly in the mail.

I could find zero reference to this model out there, so I contacted Purefishing Iowa to see about a drawing.

I quote: Hello Ken:
Yes-there is a drawing available, but no parts are available for the reel.
See attachment for schematic.

Kewl....a drawing for which there are no parts.

Maybe this reel in this thread is the same? No parts, so why bother with a drawing?

Hi Ken,

o.k., this one took me by surprise Shocked !

Seems I´m not made for these modern times, *sigh* Rolling Eyes .

Dear great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren:
Once upon a time, some tackle manufacturers were backing up their products with parts...

I´ll call it a day and go to bed (your post will give me horrible dreams Wink ), seems finding a schematic wouldn´t make that much of a difference Sad , good night and rock on Very Happy !

Hio, Chris.... I am speculating...maybe the reel in the thread does have a schematic somewhere.

Maybe there are parts. I cannot wait to see what it is I bought. (the fleabag). The image by the reel looked interesting, and the price was right. if I get hosed, well, I'll just wrap up the reel, and give it to my son for Christmas. (LOL) , along with a burned out light bulb, and a lump of coal.

Other makers are famous for putting out reels for which there is no support. Those special "combo" rod and reel packages, where: if the rod breaks, they give you another rod AND reel. Or: if the reel cacks, they give you another reel, AND rod !
