Hi Ken and all
Just bought a 6.3 gear from flea-bay and it looks exactly like the 5.3 that I want to change out. shouldn't it be a bigger gear?
Also have a pinion coming to match, but its not here yet.
Why would these gears look identical? I have emailed the seller, who is a regular parts dealer on ebay but thought I would ask here as Kenny has always come through with his knowledge.

Hio, Tom...When one compares a main 6.X-1 gear against the 5.X-1 gear,
they look very similar. The fast one usually has a bit of a bowed 'curve', from tooth top to tooth bottom...more pronounced than the 5.X gear, which usually looks pretty flat across the teeth.
The _pinion_ gear for the 6.X has less _teeth_ on it, therefore spinning that much quicker than the 5.X, with more teeth.
