Sounds like the drag stack is either contaminated with tramp grease, or not installed correctly. Or the post the driveshaft sits on, is loose on the brake plate.

The drawing will be in the box, or part of the box on the lid. Look up the drag stack part numbers, and buy new washers, after you pull the driveshaft off the post, and check to ensure post is still tight, not spinning around and around, caused by the rivet underneath coming loose.
If under a year, and post spins, you might have a warranty claim.
If you bought it used, no box, contact Okuma, and they will send you a drawing in your email.
Once you have the drawing, study it very carefully, take pictures or make detailed notes with drawings each step of the way, as you start undoing screws till you get to where you need to be. Have a box and stamps at the ready, if you decide to stop, and send the reel in to your closest warranty center. They will request about 30.00 plus parts, and and return postage. _________________ http://www.zombo.com

| Recently replaced Okuma drag washers with smooth drag also lapped steel washers to flat in 4 Calcuttas. Customer reported the reels never felt that good. |
