I am looking for a heavy action spinning reel. I will be using this where flathead catfish are commonly caught around 30lbs but 50lb'rs are not out of the question. I am looking to spend around $75. Do you have any suggestions make? model?

Thank you.

Hi. I'd stick with a well-known brand, like Daiwa, Shimano, Penn, Okuma.
I'd visit their respective web sites, and check features to features brand to brand. Then I'd check local sports shops for cost. After that, you could surf ebay, and see what that market says.

Up this way, the Daiwa "Jupiter" run of reels seems to hold up for a couple of years.
