|

I have a Motorguide T47 trolling motor that's about 10 years old and goes through the Rotary Switch KT150-02 like they are candy. The switches seem to go through a melt down within a few trips. First losing reverse and then smoking. The cables leading to the switch have melted insulation and some are very corroded. From the looks of the schematic, it appears that the wiring harness is not replaceable. Can anyone confirm this? Is my only option trying to cut the cables and put new connectors on and hope for the best? _________________ "When you encounter seemingly good advice that contradicts other seemingly good advice, ignore them both." - Al Franken

Start at the battery clips or connection at the battery. If there is corrosion and heat present, it will manifest itself elsewhere in a hurry.
ALL connections should be clean and tight, soldered if possible.
If you are going thru switches, start with the connections first.
