Question about the newer style ABU power handle, with the soft rubber knob, like this one:
https://www.veals.co.uk/acatalog/abu-ambassadeur-6500i-tsr-1893.html
Does anyone know if there is a screw under the chrome end cap to allow the knob to come off? If so, does it have plastic bushes inside that could be replaced with ball bearings, like the Revo/Inshore handle knobs? |

Nice one Ken.
The parts schematics don't seem to show bearings for any handles, even those that definitely have them, they just show a complete handle. Let's see what turns up! |

When there's no part showing, the clue as to what the handle's got, can be the cost. Usually, with Abu, Anything under 15.00 has no bearings. _________________ http://www.zombo.com

My Inshore's, Both the 5500 and 6500 have the same nut that appears in the picture you posted, so does my 6600 mag X and my 7000 and my older 5000 AL, all of them also have a locking washer ( if you want to call it that) that has notches cut into it to line up over the nut and then it also has a small screw that bolts the washer to the handle, none of them have a nut under that nut if i am reading your post correctly, I have never had any problems with that set up, the "washer" when screwed onto the handle, seems to prevent the nut from loosening or tightning up.
hope this helps. |

cockroach,
After re-reading you post , I got to thinking that you are asking about the chrome counter balancer on the opposite side of the rubber knob,
If so,The power handles that came with my inshores and the one that came with my Revo Toro 50, are the same. and all 3 power handles do not have a screw or nut that allows you to remove the knob nor counter weight. However I was told that some of the Abu power handles Do have a scrw that allows you to remove it so you can either put a heavier or lighter counter weight on it.
Hope I got it right this time.
