I have a 55lb/Thrust 2005 Riptide Latch & Door 52" shaft.
It has about 400-500 hrs. on it and has bumped/jumped and slamed it's share of oyster bars. Now the magnets have shattered. (imagine that, huh?)
I tore into the lower housing and removed the armature, all the loose pieces of magnets from the armature and dislodged the magnets from the housing.
Q U E S T I O N S:
1.) Does the Center Housing Assy (431-301) come with the magnets installed?
2.) Can I convert this motor to a 70lb. thrust unit? ie. Is the Center housing the same size? (might require some creative thinking here)
3.) Are parts for this motor available?
I have other questions about this motor but they depend on the answer(s) to these. I need to get my trolling motor repaired so I can get back on the water.
Thanks,

Have you called Mike on the phone? Did you try the reel doctor in Edmonton? Trevor does motors too. He has a web site 3wreeldr dot com.
The folks at Mikes don't visit the forum, and by the lack of replies, it looks like the information is specialized. Mike himself only pops by at **very** quiet times in the operation down there. _________________ http://www.zombo.com

Thank You Ken for the reply. Yea, I have had some other "Ox carts in the ditch" as of late. I would love to convert it to a 70/lb. motor. I havn't called Mike . . . right now I can't remember if he has an 800 number of not but if he does I will call.
Thanks again for the follow up and suggestions.
