Hi everyone
Can anyone help me with stripping and servicing this reel? I have just bought one from Ebay and it came with no box, manual or diagrams. I cant find anything on the Diawa site and I would like to get to know the reel before I use it.
Any tips on how to keep the reel in top condition would also be useful as this is my first spincasting reel.
Thanks to anyone who can help my Email is smhb69@hotmail.com
Cheers 'Tight lines'

Hi there
Yes that is the typre of reel but mine is gold at the end.
I can swap the handle over to the other side ok but as for getting inside it I have not got a clue, I can see no screws to remove or buttons/catches to open the thing up. The back section does seem to unscrew about 10 degrees anticlock wise but it goes no further and i dont want to force it. The front section does not seem to move at all.
Thanks again for your help
Cheers Steve
Update
I have just managed to get the front part to move I think it was cross-threaded and would not move before. I can now see how to get in to respool the reel with line.
Can this reel be used with braid?
Cheers Steve

Hi, Steve: Uncertain on the braid thing...spincast reels are not noted for great line capacity. You may have better luck with a spinning reel, or a levelwind. If I were to think braid, I think I'd look at pro line, fireline, or some other 'bonded' style. I would not want to go past 35 pounds. _________________ http://www.zombo.com

Thanks again
I have got a spining reel (with bail arm) mached for my spinning rod and also a small bass pro baitcaster outfit that will fit my trigger rod. I only bought the spincaster as we dont see them over here much (although I have seen closed face reels used for fresh water applications) I quite like the easy to use spincaster but I dont think I would buy another as they seem (to me) not to be built as well as and are overcomplicated.
My spin caster came with 100 yards of 12lb already spooled onto it, I think the line is too thick so I thought I might try the braid (20lb test I think I should get 120 - 130 yards onto it
Cheers
Steve
