I have always thought that the C3's and C4's were made in Sweden, but on another site someone said they were made in China. I know the BCX's are made in China and the Revo's are made in Korea. |

Hio...you can tell whomever it is at "another" site, that they are mis-informed. The 45/55/65/35/56/66 C3/C4's are still Swedish made.
The BCX is a total piece of crap. The spool axles fail. And then they want to charge 45.00 for a spool that came out of a 69.00 reel.
The Revos are bass reels, and as such, are not sold very much BC. _________________

| Thanks Ken for the quick reply. I joined this site because the members speak ABU, and I love the reels. I fish Bass, so all I use is the 4600 and 5500 size, but still like hearing about the 6500 and 7000. |

Hi, R/Joe....you can also see the stripers on line forum...they have a large Abu following there as well. They have a huge visitation body, being an eastern USA setup.
At present, over their forum spread, there are 1,033 folks looking in, while there's just me here at Mike's. There are 15 people looking in on reel repair, and 10 looking in on the distance casting forum. _________________

The box for my 7000C3 says that it’s “Made in Taiwan Designed and inspected according to Abu Garcia’s specifications.”
Not that I think it makes a real difference (no pun intended). As long as the specifications delivered to the Asian plant are good and the cost of quality materials is authorized then there’s no reason a great reel can’t come from there. For example, my 7000C3 has served me well for several years of striper, bluefish, and cod catching. |
