I have an old Motorguide quik stik 52-54. I purchased a relay from Mikes Reel Repair (thanks Mike) and reveiwed the wire diagrams.
After installing the relay, the motor is still not functioning. The rotary switch is working, the motor runs at all speeds and directions (checked out via jumpers). The switches have all been checked and are working properly.
The problem is, I've wired the relay per the schematic yet the motor still does not "activate" when switched on.
The relay also emitted a high pitched buzz (like an indicater or warning) when I was testing.
Is there a minimum voltage requirement to trip the relay? Are there alternate wiring options?
Any help is appreciated..

...sounds like a common power problem.
Check the battery cables CLOSELY. More times than not I see bad batery connections that play havoc with everything else.
.....solder everything is my motto! (well, most of the time anyway
