I have two Cannon HS downriggers, a Mag 5 and a Mag 10. They have the same control boards. This is the third replacement I have had of these boards at $90.00 a pop. The first two were due to improper use- inexperienced operators trying to force retrieve of a stuck weight. The third was due to nothing apparent. There seems to be no safety mechanism to prevent the failure. I would be interested in learning others experience regarding this problem.
